Have you ever felt a bit unsure while going through poses?
Here is what Maree Eggleton will be sharing with you:
"I want to give people the opportunity to workshop their practice. It can be an opportunity to explore alignment for individual variations, exploring muscle tensions, strength and skeletal compression that may influence your expression of a pose. Opportunity to explore ways to modify and build your practice safely with the benefits of preventing injury and tailoring your practice to feel amazing within your body."
Maree did her first yoga class in Darwin, hot yoga but without heaters! She then spent too long swinging in and out of yoga, trialling different styles and teachers as she moved around Australia. Something started resonating as Maree became a mum and added juggling a young family into the life mix. Yoga provided not only a great physical workout but also peace of mind and a way to harness personal energy.
A thirst to know more led Maree to Yin Yang Teacher training at Yoga Body Works. Here Maree found some answers, many more questions and a love of teaching yoga. Sharing her yoga journey and the yoga journey of others continues to deepen her practice and commitment to yoga.
Maree has always had an interest in health and well-being, completing a degree in Occupational Therapy and working for 15 years in the areas of adult rehabilitation, assisting people to return to independence in everyday life following major injury, trauma or illness. Maree understands how the body moves and has skills in modifying yoga poses for those with injury and in designing a practice to balance your busy life.
To further develop her interest and skills in Prenatal Yoga, Maree has completed Bliss Baby Prenatal and post-natal Yoga Teacher Training and has assisted in the local Bliss Baby Prenatal Teacher Training. She is passionate about creating a safe space to either start or continue your yoga practice in your exciting and sometimes daunting journey to being a mum.
With 175 hours of Yin teacher training with Stephanie Calhourn and Power Living Yoga, Maree brings a depth of knowledge of anatomy and western sciences balanced with some understanding of yoga and eastern philosophies to yin classes. Her classes find a balance between healing the body, calming the mind and nurturing happiness and acceptance.
Maree brings her experience as a mum, health professional and yogi to create a down to earth yoga practice to suit all individuals.
