Carlos Almenara
First practicing yoga about 10 years ago, Carlos initially began his yoga journey to assist with neck & back issues he developed from his then job as a fighter pilot. Carlos soon found sanctuary from his stress & anxiety on his mat, and became a dedicated, regular practitioner.
Carlos completed his 200 hour Teacher Training in 2021 with Tara South, and has been both teaching and assisting regular classes in Newcastle.
Having found tremendous personal growth through his own yoga journey, Carlos has a particular passion for trauma-aware yoga through movement and breath work. He is continuing his training in this area, and hopes to assist injured veterans and front-line workers on their road to recovery. Yoga has also, unexpectedly, helped him to reconnect with his South American heritage. In particular, some of the shamanic traditions embraced by parts of his family which incorporate powerful breath techniques.
