We are honored to receive the amazing Dean Galip for a weekend of peace, wisdom and connection.

About Dean:

“Namasté
I’m Dean, a dedicated Jivamukti Yoga practitioner, student and teacher, nutritionist, author, and health expert. I was born in Germany in 1991 and have a degree in Human Movement in Sports and Exercise and nutrition from the AHBK Academy in Recklinghausen, Germany.

I’ve spent 3 years studying Holistic Medicine at the Medical Academy Paracelsus in Muenster, Germany. A lifelong student that’s what I’m, always passionate to train with great masters of life around the world—mostly in India, Thailand, China, and Germany.

My extensive experience and education in philosophy and varying styles of yoga include Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha, Shivananda, Jivamukti, Yin, and Iyengar Yoga. Studying Ayurveda in India in Ashrams with Ayurvedic families gave me a great overview of what a healthy holistic life actually is and means. Practicing Buddhism, studying yoga psychology in monasteries, and attending meditation retreats all around the world strengthened my understanding of the human psyche.

Having a great passion for health I never stop learning about the physical and mental properties of human existence. As both a life coach and social worker, I’ve assisted people of all ages and nationalities to make critical changes in their behavior and outlook. Focus on self-empowerment, building life skills, and rehabilitation to enable changes in others. I specialized in the teachings of yoga for body, mind, environmental and social health.

I also studied the teachings of Shaolin and Taoism in China. Having a strong general idea of Taiji Quan, Qi Gong, Shaolin Kungfu, and the Traditional Chinese Medicine and combining it with Ayurvedic and yogic knowledge. My teachings and classes are always filled with aspects and views of all these wonderful holistic lifestyles and ways of living.

I’ve been teaching yoga for more than 9 years now. For the last 3 years, I have been traveling the world and teaching in places like Kunming in China, Siem Reap Cambodia, and Lamu Island in Kenya until 2 years ago I settled down in Sydney Australia where I found myself teaching in the most iconic yoga retreat center in Australia, Swamis Yoga Retreat. Where Swami, the very first yogi in Australia, has created a place of peace and wisdom.
Before all that, I was running the biggest Yoga center in Muenster, Germany.
I’ve taught more than 5000 classes by now and given hundreds of workshops and personal training. I am a lead teacher in a 200hr and 300hr Yoga Alliance Teacher Training.”

WORKSHOPS:

Yin Yoga with Meditation and Sound Bath

While “yang” yoga focuses on your muscles, yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.

The practice of yin yoga is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles which believe there are pathways of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. By stretching and deepening into poses, we’re opening up any blockages and releasing that energy to flow freely.

A yin yoga sequence has a very similar effect on our energies as an acupuncture treatment.

Sound bath with Tibetan singing bowls.

A Tibetan singing bowl is a type of bell that vibrates and produces a rich, deep tone when played. Also known as singing bowls or Himalayan bowls, Tibetan singing bowls are said to promote deep relaxation and offer powerful healing properties. The science say we live in a vibrational universe and as our body tunes into certain vibrations it supports the cells to heal the body and let’s us dive into deep relaxation

Buddhist monks have long used Tibetan singing bowls in meditation practice. In addition, some wellness practitioners (including sound therapy massage therapists, and yoga therapists) use Tibetan singing bowls during treatment.
